Who is the system intended for?
PetroView Live can be made available to anyone within an organisation wherever they may be. A typical user might be someone with a basic mapping requirement for a presentation or report; alternatively it might be someone in a remote location who needs quick look at licensing, drilling activity, field production or infrastructure information.
PetroView Live is available as a supplementary service to existing organisations that are already using a desktop implementation, of either MapInfo or ArcGIS.
Accessing the system
Two options are available, each providing initial client configuration, dataset updates on a monthly basis and telephone helpline support:
Internet service: hosted, supported and maintained by Petroleum Services using ESRI ArcGIS Server 9.3 technology.
Licensed on a per company and dataset basis, irrespective of the number of users, this option saves your organisation time and effort in terms of managing the website and keeping datasets up-to-date.
Intranet service: designed, installed and configured by Petroleum Services, but hosted by the client. PetroView datasets can be integrated with client datasets and custom functionality developed to work with client documents and databases.
Organisations with an existing ESRI ArcGIS Server licence or with strict information security policies may prefer this option.
