New release - Indonesia Upstream Petroleum Report

We are pleased to announce the release of the 2006 edition of the Indonesian Upstream Petroleum Report.

The report provides users with comprehensive data and discounted cashflow analysis for all significant producing assets and upstream projects currently under development in Indonesia. It also provides detailed information on reserves, production, exploration and appraisal activity, company interests and fiscal terms in Indonesia.

Latest PetroView developments

New Bolivia dataset

We are delighted to announce the launch of PetroView Bolivia. The dataset includes all standard data layers such as wells, licences, fields, facilities and pipelines. The cultural data layer, including basin outlines, is also provided.

The Bolivian dataset is available for the MapInfo and ArcView (ESRI) GIS platforms and will be updated on a quarterly basis during 2006. The Bolivia release forms part of our continued data coverage expansion in South America.

Argentina extensively updated

The PetroView Argentina dataset has been extensively updated with a new blocks layer. Company ownership, incorporating recent mergers and acquisitions, and ‘open’ blocks available for bidding have also been refreshed.

New and updated layers in North West Europe dataset

This month sees the addition of two new layers, and the update of a further two, for the Norwegian sector of PetroView North West Europe:

APA 2006 - 192 Norwegian blocks and part-blocks on offer in the Awards in Predefined Areas 2006 (APA2006) are shown in this new layer.

Domes – This new layer depicts the main salt domes of the Norwegian shelf.

Structural Elements – The updated layer contains the main structural elements of the Norwegian shelf.

Fault Boundaries - This shows the faults boundaries of the Norwegian shelf.

The information in all layers has been released by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD), is based on officially approved data and is accessible via PetroView’s data catalogue.

Egyptian licensing round

The latest update of PetroView North Africa includes 20 new Egyptian blocks. 12 blocks have been offered by Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) focusing around the Sinai and Nile delta with a total area of 60913 sq. km. The Ganope El Wadi Holding Petroleum Company have offered eight blocks scattered around the Western Desert, Eastern Desert, Red Sea and Gulf of Suez, encompassing a total area of 157,500 sq. km. The bidding deadline has been set for 12 noon on July 16th, 2006.

Egyptian gas reserves are estimated at 67 tcf, but with recent discoveries it is believed that the actual reserves may reach approximately 200 tcf. Conversely, Egyptian crude oil production has declined, falling from 594,657 in 2004 to 578,945 bbls/d in 2005.
