The Petroleum Services group at Deloitte provides information, analysis and advisory to 150 of the largest oil and gas companies. We are looking to take on talented people to join a fast-growing practice and work with like-minded people who are at the forefront of their chosen field. At present, the following roles are available:
- Economic modeller and fiscal regime analyst: London
- Oracle database administrator and Uniface developer: London
Economic modeller and fiscal regime analyst: London
We are seeking to recruit a motivated graduate with experience of developing complex spreadsheet models using Microsoft Excel. The role will require some external contact with clients, providing technical assistance and training as well as supporting our business development activities.

- work in a team of four modellers; and
- deal with clients for the purposes of technical support, training and marketing.
- The primary focus of this role will involve:
- building and supporting our existing upstream oil and gas valuation models; and
- using pre-written documentation of country fiscal terms and translating into spreadsheet logic.
- The role will also include technical evolution of the model functionality using VBA and VB.NET technologies.
- The role is primarily based at Deloitte’s London office, with occasional opportunities for national and international travel.
Preferably the candidate should possess:
- a science, mathematics, or IT focused degree or equivalent qualification;
- working knowledge of constructing formula based Microsoft Excel workbooks and some experience of VBA;
- an understanding of Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) analysis;
- experience of creating, testing and delivering applications;
- exposure to the upstream oil industry;
- excellent team player skills but also be able to work individually under own initiative;
- The ability to work to tight deadlines using controlled time management;
- analytical and project management capabilities; and
- good communication and presentation skills.
Salary dependent on level of experience.

Oracle database administrator and Uniface developer: London
We are seeking to recruit a motivated graduate with experience of database administration, preferably Oracle, and some programming experience, ideally related to databases. The role will mainly be internal facing, ensuring our databases are maintained and supporting associated processes and applications, in particular a Uniface data entry application.
At Deloitte you will have the opportunity to:
- work within a stimulating and challenging environment, with a focus on teamwork and outstanding customer service;
- maintain, develop and enhance the core products of Petroleum Services; and
- work in a technical team of twelve people, two of which are currently supporting the databases and Uniface front-end.
- The primary focus of this role will be:
- maintaining and enhancing our Uniface data-entry application;
- maintaining and amending the structure of the Oracle database to support any enhancements and supporting the processes and technologies which generate various products from our databases; and
- requirements gathering and understanding the underlying oil and gas business logic by liaising with colleagues.
- The role may also grow to include the support of other technologies, including:
- Programming in C# and VB.NET.
- Usage of SQL Server and the associated Integration and Reporting Services technologies.
Preferably the candidate should possess:
- an IT focused degree or equivalent qualification;
- working knowledge of databases, ideally Oracle, and the kind of tasks associated with database administration;
- experience of creating, testing and delivering applications, ideally involving database manipulation;
- exposure to the upstream oil industry;
- excellent team player skills but also able to work individually under own initiative;
- the ability to work to tight deadlines using controlled time management;
- analytical and project management capabilities; and
- good communication and presentation skills.
